In most cases, you can find that information by looking up your bike's make and model and year on the manufacturer's website.

If that information isn’t readily available online you can take some measurements to verify your bike’s required shock hardware.

Rear shock hardware is labeled first by the width of the hardware axle, and then by the diameter of the mounting bolt. You must confirm the width of the hardware axle in millimeters, (or the distance between the shock mount tabs) and the diameter of the bore that allows the axle to pass through (or the diameter of the mounting bolt).

In some cases shock hardware isn’t required (and or proprietary hardware is supplied from the frame manufacturer). In this scenario an “Open end eye” is required - an open end eye is essentially a bare shock eyelet without a bushing or hardware axle installed.
