The Thudbuster elastomer could be ejected from your Thudbuster seatpost in the following scenarios :

Improperly installed elastomer
The thudbuster seatpost was installed in the bicycle's frame backwards; forcing the "arms" of the Thudbuster to move outside of their intended design.
